An experienced Organisation Development and HR practitioner with a successful track record in improving the performance of organisations, people and teams in the UK and Europe by ensuring that the capability of the people matches the strategic aspirations of the business.
Having established Syat in 1990, Martin has extensive HR and management consultancy experience with a client list reflecting many FTSE 100 companies. As a highly skilled practitioner, he has worked internationally at all levels of the organization hierarchy. Prior to this, he held a number of senior HR positions with major FTSE 100 organisations.
His career to date has afforded the opportunity to develop significant skills and capabilities in strategic change, HR and organization development. He is highly regarded for matching strategic insight and creativity with innovation; balancing the achievement of meeting today’s results whilst preparing for the challenge of delivering future goals and targets. A natural collaborator, he is valued for building sustainable relationships that deliver significant performance improvements across geographical, hierarchical and functional boundaries.
Honours Degree in Business Studies. An accredited Facilitator; Master Trainer of Trainers and Coaches; and fully qualified Mediator, Professional Development includes IPD, NLP, Counselling Skills, the Recess College Executive Development Programme and Tavistock Institute Group Development Programme.

- Working with the Main Boards of a significant number of FTSE 100 corporations to execute the business strategy utilising the Balanced Scorecard methodology.
- The transformation, design, development and training of a new function to manage a capital programme of £350 million p.a.
- The design, management and delivery of an experiential programme to train 500+ facilitators in support of cultural transformation leading to the successful implementation of TQM throughout an international telecoms organization.
- On going process design and support re strategy implementation for the Operations Director of a large customer service organization delivering £40 million efficiencies alongside significant service improvements.

- Effective design and implementation of a major downsizing initiative aimed at improving business efficiency in global PetroChem Company.
